Synopsis: This historical tale, set in 1860′s China during the Taiping Rebellion, deals with the struggles of three blood brothers during a peroid of war and political upheval. The film is based on “The Assassination of Ma,” a Qing Dynasty story dealing with the assassination of General Ma Xinyi. It was previously filmed in 1973 as “The Blood Brothers,” by Zhang Che.
